Voice Quest(1994)

A textbook CD released by UMC Promotion (currently US Vocal Class), a vocalist training school established in 1976. (By the way, this article reviews the CDs sung by the current students.) The list price is 15,000 yen (tax included). The contents of the CD include vocal lessons, assignment songs, and BPM differences between assignment songs. The theme song is a completely original song, "Rain", a beat pop of male vocals, "Good Night", which is reminiscent of Yoshitaka Minami's Monroe Walk, and "Love born in December", which is an idol pop style of low female vocals. The jazz pop "Attracted by the old time" and the most city pop "Funny Blues" of the theme songs are recorded. The shuffle beat arrangement of "Funny Blues" (2nd disc, 36th track) is recommended. All the arrangements are very cheap, and it is very interesting because it has a sense of text.
By the way, UMC Promotion has changed its name to US Owners Company, and it seems that it is expanding the business of opening vocal classrooms and making them subsidiaries nationwide instead of directly operating vocal classrooms.

City pop from the '90s and '00s that has completely become an air pocket in the shadow of the glorious '70s and '80s classics. It's a blog like a corner of the box where I relentlessly dig for CDs that are sold at 90% off at Bookoff or Hard Off. It's a group of people who have similar interests and write together. Occasionally we have events. The name was borrowed from the concept of "Light Mellow" advocated by music writer Toshikazu Kanazawa.
